Coming Together/Attica

Coming Together was written in November and December of 1971 in response to a historical event, the Attica Prison Riots. In September of that year, inmates of the state prison at Attica, New York revolted and took control of a part of the institution.

Dancing to connect

For the second year running, the OCC is staging the "Dancing to Connect" educational program, which seeks to give school children the opportunity to discover codes of collaboration and communication through dance. The first iteration of the program was run in Athens schools by the Battery Dance Company from the US along with five Greek dancers/dance teachers, each of whom came from a different background.

Battle of the best Thessaloniki 2013

The Streetdance Festival Battle Of The Best Thessaloniki 2013 continues for 9 consecutive year and will be held in collaboration with the Thessaloniki - European Youth Capital 2014 on Saturday December 14. The festival will be held for the first time at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall - Room Emil Riadis where modern facilities of the theater guarantee a high level of spectacle.

After ten days of intense workshops, more than 100 students from 5 public schools in Attica, along with their dance coaches from New York's renowned Battery Dance Company, performed their 'Dancing to Connect' program last night at the Onassis Cultural Center, in front of an enthusiastic audience of 800!!
