animasyros Festival travels to Trikala!

27 February 2015

The Animasyros International Animation Festival and Forum grows and remains restless. The New Year has found us with our luggage full of cinematic gifts and a disposition to explore! Our journey begins with the Panorama of American Animation, which will take place on February 27th-28th at Trikala in collaboration with the Municipality of Trikala and the support of the US Embassy in Greece.

Get ready for a festive weekend, full of screenings for both young and older children alongside with other happenings. The events will be hosted in the beautiful Municipal Cinema of the city of Trikala, "Cine-Mylos".

On Friday, 02.27.2015 we welcome you for the launch of the Panorama, in the afternoon, with the screening of a selection of independent American animation films from previous editions of animasyros as well as for a special screening of the beloved 3D movie, Coraline (2009), directed by Henry Selick and produced by the studio LAIKA, which received distinctions from various international festivals and was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year at the Oscars - Academy Awards.

On Saturday, 02.28, starting from the morning, there will be screenings for children which will be accompanied with educational awareness programs for children on the art of motivation. In the afternoon, we will continue with the tribute to the great American independent creator Patrick Smith with the screening of his greatest films from 2000 to today. The Panorama will end in the evening with the screening of the recent film The Boxtrolls (2014), produced by the Studio Laika, which was aired as a nationwide premiere during our last year's event in Syros and received great enthusiasm by the audience!

We look forward to enjoying together the cinematic magic of animation.
