International Creative Writing Summer School

The British Council in partnership with the Kingston Writing School and Kingston University is organising the third annual International Creative Writing Summer School in Athens and Thessaloniki. The Creative Writing Summer School provides opportunities for writers from across the world to develop their critical and analytical skills and enhance their writing abilities.

Experienced writers and professors associated with the Kingston University of London, will work intensely with small groups, in a programme that will include: workshops, readings, writing activities, discussions and one-to-one tutorials in an inspiring and creative environment focused on dialogue and exchange of ideas.

The Kingston Writing School, part of the Kingston University of London, works as an open and dynamic community of accomplished writers, journalists and experienced publishing professionals and specialises in undergraduate and postgraduate studies on Creative Writing, English Literature, Journalism and Publishing.

The courses will take place daily from Monday to Friday in the British Council in Athens and Thessaloniki. The Summer School will also include a series of lectures on contemporary British literature.

3. Advanced Fiction Writing

4. Fiction Writing Course
One-week course: 1–6 June 2015 with Ed Docx

5. Suspense Writing Course
One-week course: 8–13 June 2015 with Dr Andrew (A.J.) Hartley

6. Scriptwriting Course (Theatre/Radio)
One-week course: 15–20 June 2015 with Winsome Pinnock

7. Poetry Writing Course
One-week course: 22–27 June 2015 with Ahren Warner

One-week course: 1–6 June 2015 with Adam Baron

2. Non-fiction Writing Course
One-week course: 1–6 June 2015 with Sam Jordison

3. Poetry Writing Course

Deadline for applications

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of written and spoken English and they will also be required to submit a sample of their work.
