From March 7, until March 13, 2013, in the Greek Film Archive, 167 short cut animation films from Greece and 33 other countries including USA, Spain, Poland, UK, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands, Israel, France and Russia, will participate in a contest.
Special emphasis is given to European animation films, regardless of techniques, style and aesthetic trends thus demonstrating the common cultural heritage of the peoples of Europe.
Attention has also been paid to supporting the professional creativity of young people, through special audiovisual programs, thus enriching the limited production of animation films in Greece.
The 8th International Animation Festival of Athens will include:
