This year's three-day event focuses on Sustainable Entrepreneurship and emphasizes on culture
Startup Live Athens # 3, a three-day entrepreneurship event, organized for the third consecutive year on June 7 to June 9, 2013 in Athens. Mature ideas will be furthered developed through the advice and guidance of experienced mentors. Last year's event focused on the Social and Cultural Entrepreneurship, while this year will focus on Sustainable Entrepreneurship as the main reason for problematic start-ups is the lack of a sustainable plan. Under Sustainable Entrepreneurship, the areas to develop ideas during the weekend include health, education, tourism, culture, rural production and processing.
As part of this year's event, collaboration with Lilian Voudouris Foundation began, which apart from sponsoring the event, will award a team in the cultural sector with the Special Lilian Voudouri Prize of 3,000 euros. The judges of the event will decide which team will win this price based on specific criteria such as sustainability and scalability, innovation, the promotion of culture and / or the arts of Greece abroad and dedication and commitment of the team to implement the idea on a business level with the establishment of a company, profit or non-profit.
This sponsorship is part of the new framework of the Lilian Voudouris Foundation to strengthen initiatives for the promotion of Greek culture and art. "With the new Framework we will try to contribute in showing a different image of our country both inside Greece – as it is important - and abroad - as this might be even more important," said the President of the Foundation Mr. John Paleokrassas and adds "in the actions that we will strengthen are integrate entrepreneurial initiatives in this direction, as we firmly believe that many of the solutions to the economic and social problems of our country will be developed through entrepreneurship and innovative ideas . For this reason we are helpers in attempting Startup Live Athens. »
Hopefully this action will launch an investment in Greek start-ups of the Greek culture, which, at that time, we need more than ever.
