Concerts and masterclass with free entry by important representatives of the jazz scene
Following last year's first steps, the Syros Jazz Festival showed it has the ability to be established, with Syros satisfying all the conditions for this annual art event: actors supporting it, the audience embraces it, the ideal venue to accommodate people who are willing and experience and organize it.
This year from May 31 to June 3, some of the best representatives of the Greek jazz will accompany an improvised celebration for the 150th anniversary of the historic Apollo Theater scene, like George Kontrafouris , Takis Barberis and Tanya Giannoulis and excellent Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen Trio of Luxembourg . The entrance and the three days of Syros Jazz Festival is free to the public.
Moreover, in collaboration with drummer John Russo and Contemporary Music School, offered for the second consecutive year, on Tuesday, June 3 at noon, a free masterclass on jazz improvisation for beginners, self-taught, amateurs and professionals of all ages whose love for music unites them. The masterclass does not require prior experience with jazz and will give the opportunity to all participants, whichever instrument they play, to deepen their knowledge and gain a more creative perception of melody, rhythm and harmony.
