Depression Era is a group of artists, researchers, writers, architects, journalists and theoreticians based in Athens, who came together with the sole purpose of recording the crisis in Greece, through images and texts.
The group follows the historical turning point that has been taking place in Greece over the last few years. Its ambition is to trace facts and situations characteristic of this recession period, which portray not only the financial but also the political, ideological, ethical and aesthetic crisis in addition to the rapid changes caused in Greek society, as a radically new landscape is formed, pending between shock and the search for a new vision.
