After the 2018 SelectUSASummit, Yoleni's Hellas opened its first physical store in the U.S., in Providence, Rhode Island, in an 1895 landmark building following Yoleni's Flagship store model, in downtown Athens, Greece. 

The company recently obtained its U.S. patent for their copper antimicrobial thermometer, a development that allows it to proceed into the next step which is to obtain FDA approval for this unique medical device, allowing it to launch into the U.S. health market.

“Owning a business in America is the best place to become a ‘somebody,'” said Thakkar, who came to the U.S. from India to attend graduate school at Kent State University, Ohio, in 1981. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1985 and became an American citizen in 1991.
