The U.S. Embassy in Athens, in collaboration with the Onassis Cultural Center and with support from the Municipality of Komotini, is supporting the “Dancing to Connect” educational program.

LEAP (Listen - LEArn - Play) is not only a series of computer games specially designed for blind children but much more. It is developed to be the base of a building that has to do with the creation of accessible PC games. The first step in this effort is : blind children to become familiar with the easiest way in the use of computers and also with three-dimensional sound.

The Educational Policy Institute (IEP), in collaboration with the School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and the Onassis Cultural Centre co-organize an International Conference on "Art and Education: Teachings and Pedagogical Approaches to the School of the 21st century."

The American documentary "Bully" directed by Lee Hirsch was screened at five high schools in the remote island of Kos, March 30- April 4, as part of the Embassy Athens-sponsored program Docs on Wheels II.

The U.S. Embassy in Athens is sponsoring a 10-day study-visit for staff and directors of Greek university career centers to the United States. With the aim of helping Greece increase job opportunities for its young people, particularly new graduates, the U.S. Embassy has arranged a series of visits to public and private universities, as well as meetings with members of the business community, with representatives of non-governmental organizations working on higher education issues, and with members of local government throughout the dynamic state of California.

Most of Gallaudet's graduate programs train students in professional services for the deaf and hard of hearing. Geo Kartheiser, a graduate student in the educational neuroscience program, won a National Institutes of Health fellowship for his research on how sign-language learning can give insight into the structure and functions of the human brain.

The heads of the career centers of the University of Ioannina, Patras, University of the Aegean, and the Athens University of Economics and Business along with a Ministry of Education representative, travelled to the U.S. to explore how university career centers operate in the U.S. to contribute in youth entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation.

In the wider cooperation framework between the Greek Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning and Harvard University, a conference on "Digital Humanities and applications in education," is organized on Saturday, October 18 at the 'Stoa Vivliou', under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.
