The 2015 theme, under the title "Reframing Memory", explores the relationship between past and present, both experimental and mainstream, bringing together a wide range of international artistic positions.

"Inshallah" ("God willing" in Arabic) is a project that explores the Soviet and American occupations of Afghanistan and draws on my childhood fantasies that romanticize the military and intertwine with my past and present personal conflicts.

Hellenic Centre for Photography is pleased to announce the exhibition of American photographers Harry Griffin & Eva O' Leary "Devil's Den". The exhibition takes place at the Benaki Museum (Pireos St. Annexe), as part of the main programme of the Athens Photo Festival 2015.

Globalization has made the uniqueness of a particular country less significant thus creating an indistinguishable common world community. EUSA is a portrayal of American themed places around Europe and European themed places in the US. Being enthralled by another country's way of life does not mean that it is always an accurate portrayal rather it becomes a sentimental and idealized depiction; an homage to a heritage that isn't ones own. These locations are a perception of fantasy, a sense of what the other wishes the reality would be; a reaction to the homogenization of European and American cultures.

With Bottom of the Lake, Christian Patterson takes an allusive view of his hometown of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The work revolves around the 1973 Fond du Lac Telephone Directory, published shortly after the artist's birth. Patterson revisited and photographed places listed in the book and eventually placed his images inside his reproduction of the directory.

Each year the festival focuses on a specific theme, encompassing a range of photo-based forms including photography, installations, multimedia and photobooks. The 2015 edition's theme under the title "Reframing Memory" explores how photographers and artists today represent past/history, defining the social changes they undergo, bringing together a wide range of international artistic positions.

Internationally exhibited photographic artist Algis Kemezys, will be showing his recent work, Born in Stone (composite photographs of stone and ancient Greek sculpture) in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, Greece in 2015.

From his mentor, Man Ray, to his most famous student, Andy Warhol, the renowned photographer has captured the New York art scene since the 1970s, the punk-rock scene of the 80s and 90s in the U.S., as well as the architecture and art life of major European cities.

This exhibition is a selection from the oeuvre of the American artist, Arthur Tress from 1956 till 2006, and is presented for the first time in Greece in collaboration with Château d' Eau in Toulouse and Contrejour publications, as part of the museum exhibition series "Great Masters". October 2013 – January 2014.
